Fire-hit families given LPG connections

The district administration on Monday distributed LPG connections to 33 families of Dahar village in Mandi district. The families were rendered homeless after a fire broke out in the area on October 30 last year.

Deputy Commissioner, Mandi, Rugved Thakur said the families had been given LPG connection as per the directions of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. An amount of Rs 1.5 lakh had been spent on purchasing the connections.

He said the administration was making all 

efforts to help the affected families.

As many as 31 houses were gutted at Dahar village in October last year when a fire broke out in dry grass, which spread from one house to the others. Fire tenders could not reach the spot on time and the entire village was engulfed in fire, causing loss of property.
