Himachal doctor tops AIIMS fellowship exam

Himachal doctor Shikha Sood, presently working as an assistant professor in the Department of Radiodiagnosis at the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, has bagged the only fellowship seat in GI Radiology at AIIMS, Delhi.

She will be pursuing the course and would get hands on knowledge on radiological interventions for one year at AIIMS. After completion of the course, Dr Shikha would become the only expert radiologist in this field in the state. She will be giving her specialised services for patients at the IGMC on DSA and C-arm machines which are to be installed soon.

She is a MBBS gold medallist. She also topped the country in DM Neuroradiology course in AIIMS. She has published more than 33 papers in international and national journals and has presented paper in South Korea. She has also rendered her services in South Korea and Kuwait.
