Land dispute claims life in Mandi

In a shocking incident, brother and nephew of a man killed him over land dispute in Mandi district on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Chet Ram (60), a native of Kanaid. Both the accused have been arrested under Section 302 of the IPC. According to police information, a scuffle broke out between elder brother Nagpal (63) and the victim. Later, Nagpal was joined by his son Chaman Lal (40) and they both thrashed Chet Ram mercilessly until he fell unconscious.

The victim was rushed to a hospital at Sundernagar for medical aid, but the doctor on duty declared him brought dead.

Narender Kumar, son of the victim, filed a police complaint against both the accused and they have been booked. Gurdev Chand Sharma, Superintendent of Police, Mandi, said the accused had been arrested and sent to five-day police remand. Further investigations in the case were on.
