Paper leak: Accused’s role being examined

Una, April 16

A team of the Delhi crime branch, which is probing the CBSE paper leak case, is also investigating whether prime accused Rakesh Sharma, a commerce teacher at DAV Centenary Public School, Una, was involved in similar such incidents in the past.

It is learnt that the teacher had been discharging examination duties at the designated centres in Una district for more than three years. Investigating officials are re-examining the results of Rakesh Sharma’s students in the past few years.

It has also come to the fore Rakesh Sharma was promised promotion by her sister-in-law based in Ferozepur. She had reportedly told Rakesh that he would be promoted as Principal of the school if he provided her with the copies of examination papers.The woman has also been arrested. Her name is yet to be disclosed. — OC
