Rain hampers paddy harvesting

Our Correspondent

Nurpur, October 11

Rain, accompanied by strong winds and lightning in the past two days, has impacted harvesting of paddy in lower Kangra. The high-velocity winds flattened the standing crop in Nurpur, causing losses to the farmers.

The inclement weather also disrupted power/water supply in urban as well as rural areas. In Fatehpur, lightning damaged electric equipment in as many as 12 houses at Chhattar Jikla village near Rehan on Wednesday night.
