Shimla, February 13

Health Minister Vipin Parmar today warned that stern action would be taken against the erring drug manufacturers, whose samples of drug have failed. Such companies would be blacklisted, he added.

“Quality should also be maintained in production of drugs being manufactured as the state has emerged as a major pharma hub not just of the country, but in Asia,” he said.

He said the Health Department undertakes sampling of drugs from time to time to ascertain. He said it was unfortunate that 33 samples out of 1,065 samples of drugs collected failed in quality norms.

Parmar said since the issue was related to health of the people, the companies should adhere to the norms.
