Child rights commission notice to school

Jalandhar, January 12

Three days after its Class X student Khushi (15) had jumped off the fourth floor of the school building, the Punjab State Child Rights Commission issued a notice to the principal of Cambridge International School, Chhoti Baradari.

Through the notice issued today, the school principal has been told that a hearing in the matter will be taken up on January 18 at 11 am. The principal and the school management committee chairman have been asked to appear during the hearing. Taking a suo motu notice based on newspaper reports, the commission has called for a complete report and the CCTV footage of the incident.

The commission has also directed the school to inform the parents of the girl about the incident so that they too can represent their opinion in the case if they so desire. — TNS
