Dilapidated condition of PSPCL office poses threat

Our correspondent

Nakodar, June 14

The office of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), located at Shankar village in Nakodar subdivision, has been operating from a dilapidated building for the last 28 years.

Residents face inconvenience due to the lack of basic amenities. Officials concerned said: “They have repeatedly urged the authorities to move the office to another building situated on Shankar-Tahli Road, near the Civil Hospital, but nothing has been initiated in this regard.”

Things go out of hand during the rainy season.

“Many records kept at the office have damaged due to the vagaries of the weather,” they added.

They said the staff could also be at risk if something is not done. Inquiries revealed that the building belongs to a political family.

Additional Superintending Engineer Sukhwindar Singh said he had brought the matter into the notice of high authorities.
