Jalandhar, February 11

Around 35 amateurs and professional artists, along with 45 college students, 10 senior class students and 10 junior class students of Class V and Class VIII of the city have displayed their work in the form paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures and portraits at the five-day art exhibition which was commenced on February 9 here at the Virsa Vihar.

Paramvir Singh, SDM II, Jalandhar, inaugurated the exhibition.

Channi GS Takulia, office secretary, Virsa Vihar, said, “At the exhibition art works in different mediums have been displayed. The motive behing organising the exhibition was to provide platform to the artists to showcase their talent and encourage art-lovers of the city.”

The work of professionals has been arranged at one place while the work of students and junior students at different places, added Channi.

Ajay, a visitor said, “Different works in the form of landscapes, portraits are on display at the exhibition. It is good to watch the imagination of artists they put in their paintings, drawings, photographs etc.”

It also boast the artist when his work gets appreciated and besides it gives the art lovers like me a chance to interact with different masterpieces and learn something new, he added.

Karamveer Sandhu, a professional photographer and photo journalist, describing his subjective piece of art he had displayed at the exhibition said, “Pictures are both subjective and objective, one having no connect with the photographer, while other which is clicked having a thought in mind.”

He also appreciated the works of other artists and professionals and said “Picture of Ankur Aggarwal depicting the beauty of lord Budha is amazing.” 

The exhibition will be on till February 13.
