Traffic to be diverted on routes of shobha yatra

Jalandhar, February 11

In order to regulate traffic in a better manner during the proposed Shobha Yatra to mark the festival of Maha Shivratri in the city on Monday, (February 12), the Jalandhar Commissionerate of Police has decided to divert traffic at 22 points on the route of the shobha yatra.

As per the route plan 22 diversions would be given to the traffic by the Jalandhar Commissionerate of police, so that pilgrims participating in the shobha yatra do not face any problem.

The shobha yatra would commence from the Sri Devi Talab Mandir in the city and culminate at the same place, after passing through the Tanda Adda, Bhagat Singh Chowk, Ram Chowk, Bhagwan Valmiki Chowk, Basti Adda, Patel Chowk and Mai Heeran Gate.

Keeping in view the shobha yatra, heavy vehicles would not be allowed from the Damoria Pull towards Hoshiarpur Adda, Shastri Chowk to Milap Chowk, GPO Chowk to PNB Chowk, Skylark Chowk to Bhagwan Valmiki Chowk, Patel Chowk to Jail Chowk, Railway Station to Adda Hoshiarpur, Dr. Ambedkar Chowk to Bhagwan Valmiki Chowk, Football Chowk to Basti Adda Chowk, Kapurthala Chowk to Patel Chowk, Workshop Chowk to Patel Chowk, Kapurthla Chowk to Old Sabzi Mandi, T-Point Vijay Nagat to Basti Adda Chowk, Street near Naaz Cinema to Basti Adda Road, T-point Jail Chowk to Basti Adda Road, Basti Adda Chowk to Patel Chowk and Bhagwan Valmiki Chowk, Pathankot Chowk to Doaba Chowk and others. Meanwhile, there is also a traffic helpline number- 0181-2227296-to help the general public.
