Srinagar, October 11

As many as 1,850 personnel of the J&K Police, including constables, head constables, assistant sub-inspectors and sub-inspectors, have been promoted.

The promotions have come after directions by Director General of Police Dilbag Singh in September.

As per the orders issued, 665 selection grade constables have been promoted to head constables, 236 head constables to assistant sub-inspectors and 282 assistant sub-inspectors to sub-inspectors, a police spokesman said.

“Besides, 620 in situ promotions were granted, which included 32 head constables, 72 selection grade constables and 469 constables. The in situ promotions were also granted to 47 followers,” the spokesman said.

The DGP congratulated the promoted officials and extended greetings to their families.

The promotion orders of the police personnel were issued after the Departmental Promotion Committee declared them eligible for the next rank.

In the last one month, compassionate appointment cases of 12 beneficiaries were finalised at the Police Headquarters and 12 cases were recommended to the home department for their appointment.
