Over 150 take part in Islamic banking meet

Rajouri, April 20

A two-day international conference on “Islamic banking and finance”, organised by the School of Management Studies (SMS) and sponsored by J&K Bank and Khyber Industries (Srinagar), concluded at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) today.

The event was organised under the guidance of Prof Javed Mussarat, VC, BGSBU. More than 150 persons took part and 60 presentations were made during two days. Many experts presented their views on Islamic banking, its prospects and challenges and its necessity in J&K state.

The first day of the conference concluded with a panel discussion on Islamic banking and queries were answered by a panel of four experts. On the second day about 25 presentations were made during the morning session by the participants from different states of the country. Dr Danish Iqbal Raina presented the summary of the two-day conference in the valedictory function today, while Dr Nasreem from Islamia College, Srinagar, congratulated the university for organising such a wonderful academic event. — OC
