Contractual lecturers seek time-bound promotions

Jammu, May 16

The All J&K (10+2) Contractual Lecturers’ Forum on Wednesday urged the state government to implementa time-bound promotion scheme for lecturers.

The issue was raised by a delegation of the forum, led by Deepak Sharma, which called upon Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta and apprised him of the problems being faced by lecturers working in government schools of the state.

“The delegation discussed at length the burning issue of non-sanctioning of time-bound grade promotions in favour of contractual lecturers. It submitted a memorandum with Deputy Chief Minister,” Sharma added.

He apprised the Deputy Chief Minister that the forum had been struggling since long to achieve the benefit of running grade/time-bound promotions, but it had not been sanctioned despite the fact there was a budgetary provision for the same. — TNS
