DC asks departments to ensure proper facilities ahead of Milad

Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Syed Abid Rasheed on Thursday convened a meeting to review arrangements for Eid-e-Milad.

The Deputy Commissioner, while emphasising the reverence of Eid-e-Milad, impressed upon the departments concerned to ensure highest degree of responsibility in their respective tasks.

He directed the departments to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply to all major congregational sites, particularly Dargah Hazratbal, during Eid-e-Milad.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the officials concerned to keep standby transformers and generators and mobile water tankers as a back-up at the shrines.

The Regional Transport Office and the State Road Transport Corporation were asked to ensure adequate number of vehicles for the devotees.

The health department was asked to station a critical care ambulance at the Hazratbal shrine on November 21. It was asked to hold medical camps during the Milad celebrations.

Shah said a control room would be set up at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. He directed the departments concerned to provide all details of their respective responsibilities, besides other important information for the convenience of the people.
