Doda students seek justice in Kathua case

Doda, April 16

Seeking justice in the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl in Kathua, students in Doda on Monday boycotted their classes and held a protest rally in the town.

Hundreds of girls and boys from college and schools boycotted their classes to take part in the rally.

Carrying banners and raising slogans, the protesters marched from the Degree College, Doda, to Ghanta Ghar early morning and demanded that the government should expeditiously prosecute those accused in the rape case and give stringent punishment to them.

A similar protest was held in Thathri where people observed a complete shutdown on Monday where shops and other business establishments remained closed. However, traffic flow remained normal and no untoward incident happened. — OC
