A militant attack targeted a convoy of the Indian Army in south Kashmir’s Pulwama on Monday.

Although details of the attack are still sketchy, Improvised Explosive Device targeted the Army Casper of 44 Rashtriya Rifles near Eidgah Arihal on the Arihal-Lassipora road, a police official said.

Initial reports said four people from security forces were wounded in the attack, an official said.
Army cordoned off the area, and fired in the air to “maintain area domination” Reinforcements have been sent into the area.

The blast site is 27 km from the area where a convoy of security forces’ vehicles were targeted on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on February 14 earlier this year. Some 40 troopers of Central Reserve Police Force were killed in the attack. Agencies
