Kargil residents seek justice for rape victim

Kargil, April 16

Thousands took part in a protest rally in Kargil on Monday demanding justice for the eight-year-old girl who was murdered in Kathua. The protest was organised by Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT). The rally started from Jamia Masjid, Kargil, and passed through the main markets to culminate at Lal Chowk in the centre of the town.

Speaking to the gathering, Kargil MLA Asgar Karbalai said the Union Government was not taking the issue seriously and alleged that the government was shielding the culprits. Chairman, IKMT, Shiekh Mohammad Sadiq Rajayee demanded justice for the victim’s family. — OC
