Jammu, November 8

Former Chief Secretary of Delhi and Goa KK Sharma on Thursday joined as the fourth Adviser to Governor Satya Pal Malik in Jammu. The state administration appointed him the fourth Adviser on Monday.

Sharma belongs to the Jammu region and is well aware of the situation in the state.

Earlier, the Governor had three Advisers —BB Vyas, K Vijay Kumar and Khurshid Ganai.

The state came under the Governor’s rule on June 20, a day after the BJP withdrew support to the Peoples Democratic Party.

The then Governor NN Vohra had appointed BB Vyas, who until then was the Chief Secretary, K Vijay Kumar, Special Secretary Home in the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, and Khurshid Ganai, who was the Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) before his current assignment, as his Advisers. Ganai had resigned from the CIC’s post a day before his appointment was announced by the Governor’s administration.

Malik has retained all three Advisers appointed by his predecessor. It is the first appointment of Adviser after Malik took charge as the Governor.
