ICAR Summer School in Biostatistics at Vet Varsity

A 21-day ICAR-sponsored summer school on “Applied Aspects of Statistical Modelling and Inferences in Veterinary and Animal Sciences” concluded in the Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding, GADVASU, Ludhiana last week. As many as 21 participants from all over the country participated in the training programme that comprised 39 theory and 16 practical lectures. Four experts from outside institutions, including NDRI, Karnal, IASRI, New Delhi and PAU, Ludhiana delivered the lectures. Dr. Jaswant Singh, a visiting professor form University of Saskatchewan, Canada demonstrated the application of statistics in the field of animal reproduction. Dr. Sushil Prabhakar, Registrar of GADVASU addressed the participants and cited the importance of statistics in research and teaching. He congratulated the entire team for successfully completing the training programme.
