Ludhiana, July 11

The process for admission to city colleges has begun and the students are anxious if they will be able to make it to the college of their choice or not.

A huge footfall is being witnessed at colleges as the counsellings for admissions to undergraduate and post-graduate courses are in progress.

All seats for BCom at the Government College for Girls (GCG) have been filled and those who have failed to get admission are now looking forward to other options.

At Satish Chander Dhawan Government College (SCD), all 480 seats in Bachelor of Arts (BA) have been filled while in the evening college, a few seats are vacant.

In Bachelor of Science (non-medical) course, all 160 seats were filled at the Government College for Girls.

Surubhi, a student who failed to get admission in the Government College for Girls in BSc, said: “The Government College for Girls is one of the best colleges in the city, but I am not losing hope and exploring other options,” said she.

Teachers at one of the city colleges said their job was very demanding these days due to the increased rush, confusion, excitement and nervousness among students and their parents.
