Industrialists meet power utility chief

Ludhiana, June 13

Members of the Janta Nagar Small Scale Manufacturers’ Association under the leadership of its president Jaswinder Singh Thukral met PSPCL chairman Baldev Singh Sra at Patiala today.

Thukral said due to overloading, power supply at small scale units in Giaspura, Kanganwal and Jaspal Bangar, among others, was stopped by the PSPCL.

He said this move has resulted in loss to manufacturers who had taken loans and were unable to pay installments to banks.

He said, “We asked the officials to set up 220 KV grid in Janta Nagar where 10 acres is lying vacant. We requested the chairman to change 250-meter wires with 350-meter wires in congested streets.” — TNS
