Ludhiana, October 11

Members of the Shiv Sena Punjab submitted a memorandum to Civil Surgeon Dr Parvinder Pal Singh Sidhu here on Thursday.

In the memorandum, members stated that every other day a patient was losing his/her life due to “negligence” of doctors.

President Rajiv Tandon said patients were having a harrowing time as medicines prescribed by doctors at the Civil Hospital were usually unavailable inside the hospital. “Patients are left with no other option but to shell out money and buy them from medical stores,” he said.

“Doctors are referring patients to other hospitals and patients are not getting ambulance services. There is a shortage of doctors and nurses at the Civil Hospital. Sometimes, this leads to people visiting quacks for treatment,” he said.

Civil Surgeon Dr Parvinder Pal Singh Sidhu said he would look into the complaints submitted to him.
