Nine trains cancelled, 3 rescheduled

Rail traffic in the region witnessed no improvement as nine trains were cancelled for the day, while three trains were rescheduled for late departure.

Most other long-route trains, including those running between New Delhi and different destinations in Punjab, were also delayed.

According to the railway authorities, 12014 Amritsar-New Delhi Shatabdi Express, 12037 New Delhi-Ludhiana Shatabdi Express, 12029 Shatabdi Express and 12497 Shane-Punjab the on New Delhi-Amritsar section were running behind schedule by half an hour to an hour.

Among the trains cancelled today were 12331 Howrah-Jammu Himgiri Express, 12459/60 New Delhi-Amritsar-New Delhi Intercity Express, 13049 Howrah-Amritsar Express, 14674 Amritsar-Jaynagar Shaheed Express, 14681/82 New Delhi-Jalandhar-New Delhi and 15209/10 Saharsa-Amritsar-Saharsa Jansewa Express.

Three trains – 12238 Jammu-Varanasi Begumpura Express (4 hrs), 12477 Jamnagar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express (1 hr) and 22446 Amritsar-Kanpur Superfast Express (1.55 hrs) — were rescheduled.
