Police step up vigil in city

In view of the ongoing festival season and increasing crime in the city, the city police have stepped up vigil in the entire city. A large number of police personnel have been deployed at prominent markets of the city. Besides, the police have also increased patrolling.

Police personnel in civil dress will keep a vigil on anti-social elements.

Commissioner of Police Sukhchain Singh Gill has said instructions have been issued to all police officials to increase vigil in the city. “We have increased patrolling in whole of the city. Besides, we have also deployed a large number of police personnel in markets to prevent mishaps during the festival season. Police personnel in civil dress have also been instructed to keep a watch on markets,” he said.

In Jagraon, too, SSP Varinder Singh Brar held a meeting with the SHOs and asked them to increase vigil.
