Ludhiana, June 13

The Lok Insaaf Party Chief and MLA from Atam Nagar, Simarjit Singh Bains, on Wednesday, accused the state government of lodging a false FIR against his aides and himself after his party highlighted alleged ‘scam’ at Verka Milk Plant Ludhiana. “It is political vendetta’, he said.

On Tuesday, Bains had alleged that the Verka plant had been selling the low fat milk by packing the same in the high fat packets, committing a scam of Rs200 crore per year. Later, police had booked Bains and his aides for allegedly trespassing and misbehaving with the Verka milk plant officials.

“In last 14 months of Congress government tenure, 3 FIRs have been registered against me. I will keep highlighting the irregularities and scams in government offices,” he said.

If the elected representatives have no right to check at milk plant of cooperative society, then who will keep check, he asked. The state government is trying to save the mafia at the milk plant, he alleged.

“I have sought from Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to give time for meeting but to no avail. Now, I sent a CD of recorded video to the CM. The complaint about the scam has also been made to Punjab Police Chief and police commissioner. It is clear in the video that as to how the low fat milk was being packed in high fat milk packets”, he said.

“I have exposed the corruption. If government thinks I have committed any crime, I am ready to go to jail,” he said.
