Narada scam: Didi moves SC against probe

New Delhi, March 20

The West Bengal Government today moved the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the Calcutta High Court's order for a CBI probe into the Narada payoffs scandal allegedly involving ruling Trinamool Congress leaders and an IPS officer.

It requested the SC to set aside the March 17 order terming it "erroneous", and "contrary to law". It said the HC passed the order in "haste" despite the police taking all steps to go to the bottom of the case.

Some individuals too have challenged the order and their petitions might be mentioned before CJI JS Khehar for urgent hearing on Tuesday. A Bench had on Friday directed the CBI to gather all case-related documents within 24 hours and conduct a preliminary enquiry in 72 hours. — TNS
