All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi says caretaker chief minister KC Rao (KCR)-led Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will retail power in Telangana but his party will not be a part of the government.

“There is no doubt that KCR will win an absolute majority… in case it does need any support, AIMIM will lend it without being part of the government”.

Praising the TRS government for doing a lot for the Muslims, he said 50,000 Muslims have been sent to the specially created minority school for which the TRS government is spending Rs 1.2 Lakh per student every year. About 900 Muslim students have received the state-sponsored foreign scholarship and are studying abroad. Illiteracy, he said, was the biggest bane of Muslims and it is only the TRS that has bothered about the minorities”.

He said, “Hyderabad had assumed the notoriety of being called curfew-bad. The Congress that ruled the state for five decades treated Muslims like dirt, so we all want him (KRC) to repeat his government”.

The AIMIM is contesting eight seats in old city of Hyderabad. In the 2014 polls, the party had won seven seats.
