Canals to remain closed from Nov 10

Chandigarh, November 6

The Ropar Headworks, Sirhind Canal System and Bist Doab Canal System will remain closed from November 10 to 30.

A spokesperson for the Punjab Water Resources Department said Ropar Headworks, Sirhind Canal System and Bist Doab Canal System would remain closed for these days to undertake the repair of gate and gearing system of Ropar Headworks and completion of the remaining work of the lining of Patiala Feeder.

The spokesperson said a notification had been issued in this regard and a copy of the notification was forwarded to the Deputy Commissioners of Ropar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Moga, Barnala, Mansa, Patiala, Muktsar, Faridkot, Bathinda, Ferozepur, Sangrur, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, SBS Nagar and Kapurthala districts. — TNS
