Four youths, aged between 25 and 30 years, died on the spot as the car they were travelling in reportedly went out of control and rammed into a tree near a terminal on the Rawla road in Sriganganagar yesterday.

Rawla police station incharge Karni Singh Rathore and Deputy Superintendent of Police Sohan Lal Bishnoi said two women who were returning from the fields witnessed the mishap and raised the alarm.

As the speeding car uprooted the tree, people had to struggle to extract the bodies of the victims identified as Ankur Chhabra, Aman Miglani, Amit Chalana and Garvit Bishnoi.

They were reportedly returning after attending a party in a hotel on the Rawla road.

All of them belonged to the Gharsana area. Garvit was a college student and senior functionary of the Vishva Hindu Parishad and others used to help their parents in trade. Ramesh and Garvit were the only sons of their parents.

Meanwhile in Abohar, Amritpal of Dharam Nagari was grievously injured as a car hit the motorcycle he was riding on outside a nursing home near Jain Nagar. A case under Sections 279, 337 and 338 of the IPC has been registered.
