Malwa hosts first classical music sammelan

Faridkot: Sur Aangan Punjab in collaboration with Government Brijindra College, Faridkot, started the annual Pandit Vishnu Digambar Sangeet Sammelan here on the lines of annual Harballabh Sangeet Sammelan in Jalandhar and Raag Sabha at Durgiana Temple, Amritsar. In this three-day sammelan of Indian classical music, which concluded yesterday, artistes from various parts of the country gave their performance. On the pattern of annual classical music sammelans in Jalandhar (Doaba) and Amritsar (Majha), this annual music festival has been started in the memory of Pandit Vishnu Digambar in Faridkot (Malwa) area of Punjab.
