Plans afoot to make Malerkotla dist: Razia

Malerkotla, April 20

During her maiden visit to her Malerkotla constituency after becoming Punjab Social Security & Women and Child Development and Public Works Department Minister, Razia Sultana today announced that the process to make the historical town a district would start soon.

“We are committed to fulfilling the promises we made in our election manifesto. The process to make Malerkotla a district would start soon. We are working on it,” said Sultana while meeting local leaders at a rest house here.

About the construction of a government medical college in town, she said its foundation stone would be laid in some days and work thereon initiated. Her government wanted to strengthen the medical education in the state, she added.

On dilapidated buildings of government schools in the area, she said required grant would be released to these schools to conduct repairs. — TNS
