Soon, training centre for Sikligar Sikhs

For the youth belonging to deprived Sikligar community, the SGPC has announced to set up an industrial training institute at Indore and released an amount of Rs 5 lakh for the same.

This was stated by SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal on Wednesday while taking part in a programme held at a gurdwara in Indore.

Longowal said besides establishing an industrial training centre, monetary assistance would be provide to set up a factory which would impart free training to children about making traditional Sikh weapons.

“The Sikligar community is efficient in making traditional Sikh weapons and religious symbols. We will make it a point to purchase the ‘kara’ and ‘kirpan’ from them only during various Amrit Sanchar programmes organised by the SGPC,” he said.
