Stay on CPS case till July

Chandigarh, May 16

In a reprieve for the state government, the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday ordered the continuation of stay against the removal of Suresh Kumar as Chief Principal Secretary (CPS) to Chief Minister till after the summer break in June.

Taking up the case, the Bench of Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice Deepak Sibal fixed July 11 as the next date of hearing on the appeal filed by the state government against his removal.

The adjournment came after senior advocate and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram told the Bench that he required at least two hours to argue the matter on behalf of the state government. — TNS
