Revision of Martial Law Judgments.

LAHORE, TUESDAY, OCTOBER 21, 1919

IN Sunday’s issue, we published in our correspondence columns a letter on the above subject. When the Hon’ble member made the announcements regarding the appointment of two High Court Judges to revise the judgments of Summary Court trials, it was understood that the Judges would begin their work as soon as practicable. About a month has now passed and although the names of the Judges have been announced, the work of revision has not commenced. As our correspondent rightly points out, the delay that has been caused will lead to injustice being done in the cases of those men who are undergoing short-term imprisonments. We understand that one of the Judges, the Hon’ble Mr. Justice Roof, is ill and therefore unable to take up his duties.
