2 elephant calves run over by train

Dehradun, April 17

Two young elephants looking for water were run over by the Ranikhet Express near the Haldi railway station near Katgodam early this morning. The dead elephants were believed to be around 2 years old.

According to forest officials, the accident occurred while the Ranikhet Express was on its way from New Delhi to Katgodam. The two elephant calves were negotiating the railway track when they were hit by the speeding train around 4 am.
