State Cong forms disciplinary panel

Old panel dissolved

  • Uttarakhand Congress chief Kishore Upadhyay has dissolved thecommittee to form a new one
  • Senior leader KS Rana has appointed chairman of the state-level disciplinary committee

Dehradun, March 20

The Pradesh Congress Committee has scrapped its five-member disciplinary committee and formed a new one. Mathura Dutt Joshi, spokesperson of the Uttarakhand Congress, said state Congress chief Kishore Upadhyay had dissolved the disciplinary committee and formed a new committee with immediate effect.

Senior party leader KS Rana has been appointed as the chairman of the state-level disciplinary committee while Mahesh Kandpal will be the member secretary of the committee.

The other members of the committee are Sushila Devi, Ashok Dhiman and Dr Yunus Chaudhary.

The role of the disciplinary committee became important after the recently concluded state Assembly poll against. There has been demand from all over the state to take strict action against all those party workers and leaders who worked against the party. Already, nearly 100 party workers and leaders have been sacked for working against the party in the Assembly poll. — TNS
